I am 28 and i would say i have diffuse thinning. My hairline is the same from when i was in highschool, just my hair is noticeably thinner. So after 4 years of my hair slowly thinning and falling, I finally decided to go to the dermatologist today. I am very disappointed, as she seemed more concerned with selling me PRP treatments. First off, she says yes I have hairloss and said i should start propecia, minoxidil. I was expecting this but then she also recommended “nutrafol” and to buy some $3k laser cap from her. Lastly, she recommended four treatments of PRP, with $1.5k a pop. At this point I really started to question her because this just seemed stupid. I left feeling angry, not because she said i did indeed have hair loss, I already knew this. But the fact that she was pushing me to buy all this treatments and procedures which I know do not work. What do you guys think? Have any of your doctors recommended anything similar? Any input would help.
