Hey guys,
Briefly, I have noticeable recession, and absolutely no hair loss anywhere else. My hair is pretty thick everywhere past the first 1/3 on my head. I first noticed a MINOR amount of hair loss at the temples when I was about 20, I'm now 25. The last couple weeks is the first time I can actually say that I'm crossing the line past "I can be comfortable with this hairline." In other words, I have always known I was losing hair, but no one outside of myself would notice or care.

I've been on 1mg finasteride a day since December 1st 2016. So I've been on it for about 16 months. I've pretty much had no side effects, I may have had a lower libido/softer erections, but that has since passed. There was a lapse in taking the pill for a week in between prescription renewal at the 13 month mark. I'd say I've lost 2%-3% of my hair every year, and that hasn't changed since starting to take the pill. Could the lapse in taking it for a week reset my efforts? I have read that the "final results" should be seen at about the year mark, but do some people take even longer? I'm just looking for some reassurance that Finasteride can halt the hair loss where it is now.

Thanks!

Generally temple loss cannot be stopped. Finasteride really just slows it down. finasteride only blocks about 60 percent of dht. So I You are hyper sensitive you will continue to lose hair. Also dht sensitivity increases with age. I wouldn’t stop taking it because your hair loss will most likely speed up
