I might have to take a break of one week from minoxidil after having been on it for around 2 years. Has anyone done the same before? Will I experience a shed? I am quite worried.

Terrible idea. You're jeapordizing everything minoxidil has done for you

I'm interested in a thorough answer. I was never able to use minoxidil in the morning because it makes my hair look greasy and even thinner. I only use it at night but if I know I'll be home for at least 4 hours I will apply it that morning.

In addition to 1x/day use, I was traveling a lot in school and didn't use it consistently so I would like to know if it completely halts progress or just slows regrowth.

Rogaine has been very good to me and I'm on month 20. In 20 months, without finasteride, I have regrown a lot of hair and I have maintained everything. I have ONE trouble area (right temple) that has just recently been losing ground. But it has basically bought me 20 months of sustained re growth and maintenance

That's great to hear, and congratulations! I see on your regimen that you also use keto and LLLT, any word on these? Have you used those since the beginning? I haven't heard good reviews of LLLT on this site, but I've read promising studies and I have access to LLLT, so I'll be including it in my regimen.

OP, I would say it's not worth it if you don't absolutely have to - whatever the reason is. If possible, have you considered just using less product per application, fewer daily applications, or possibly a connecting day during that week to break it up into two 3 day breaks? Or increasing applications as much as possible before and after that week?

Considering the life cycle of follicles (as I read on this site) it seems like a week would not affect them, especially if in a dormant phase, but I would be cautious. Good luck

I love using LLLT and 2% keto. I believe they definitely are good adjunct therapies to finasteride or minoxidil. My lasercomb was purchased through hairmax and it was only 200 bucks

Have you used them as long as minoxidil or added them afterward? Could you please detail how often and for how long you use the LLLT and Keto? In relation to OP's concern, have you ever taken a break from treatments?

I took them 2-3 months after starting rogaine. I do the lasercomb every other day for 15-20 min and I do the 2% keto every other day. In the 20 months I've been on treatments I haven't missed a single treatment
