It's been one month since I start taking 1mg finasteride per day. Didn't have any results in my hair. It actually shed a great amount and my whole top/crown is very thin in daylight. Made me depressed a lil bit. My hair looks worse now more than ever. I still use minoxidil 5% with it and it only makes it looks worse after putting it.

What concerns me is the side effects. Right away just my 2nd day I feel a weird ache in my balls from time to time, then I no longer wake up with a hard boner. Every time I masturbate, it takes a long while before I get a real erection and it decreased the pleasure I feel whenever I ejaculate. I still ejaculate quite normal amount of sperm but taking finasteride in just a few days made me lost my libido and excitement when masturbating. I can hardy keep an erection and made me loss my desire even for p**rn. I don't have a gf so I can't really talk about sex. Does anyone had the same experience with me?

Should I continue, or am I going downhill from here?

Finasteride for most people does lower their libido. If you can still get it up that's a good sign. It's really up to you and you should know your body best. I'd quit if there was serious side effects but not because it's making your hair worse at the moment. It could be a minoxidil shed. It's known that it takes more than 1 month to see results or it may have help halt your hairloss.

I myself only take Finasteride and not minxoidil(have a brand new box never opened) and I have seen improvement. I just try not to set myself up to think about the sides, but I do notice some minor sides. I feel bit more tired after I take it(I can tell as my sleep is much deeper, like I took something that makes you a bit drowsy), quick ball ache for 20 seconds(never happened again), of course a bit lower libido. If you do decide to stay on it, try to avoid placebo effect.

Another thing is your age, if you're older, perhaps there's a time when your libido will drop and you've just noticed it.
