One last finasteride concern

Teeth:

Long-term finasteride users. Has anyone noticed unexpected tooth decay or cavities? I had tons of dental work while on finasteride. Granted I drank lots of pop. I haven't had much dental work since quitting finasteride but I also quit drinking pop too. I know this is crazy talk but I just need reassurance from other users that they did not have an increase in tooth decay since starting finasteride.

Also;

Tendonitis:

I have seen a great reduction in tendonitis symptoms since quitting finasteride. I use to have problems in my wrist, elbow and shoulder. Now I still get mild shoulder pain but the elbow and wrist pain has subsided since quitting finasteride. Anyone else experience an increase in this after taking finasteride?

Thank you. Just want to make sure that these are irrational fears.

Can anyone explain what this means?

I have one of two theories. My teeth are just naturally crappy from genetics and finasteride had nothing to do with them rotting. Or finasteride helped caused them to decay. I have 20 total cavities and 1 root canal. Almost all of my cavities are near the gum line so the above article concerns me.

If finasteride truly doesn't play a part in tooth decay then i think it's safe to say that the propecia help guys are totally bonkers. Pretty much all of them are in agreement that there teeth were destroyed by finasteride. So if we can debunk that theory I think we have debunked that post finasteride syndrome even exists. Those guys are just looney. I'm pretty positive finasteride can't really cause tooth decay. Wouldn't that have been studied and reported? I just need to make absolutely sure since my teeth are so prone to going bad.

No, i don't have such problems. I have 2 cavities fixed years before finasteride, and no further problems while on finasteride, not with them, not with other tooth.
And i don't believe finasteride can cause teeth problems. Tooth decay is caused by poor mouth hygiene. What would be the connection of tooth with DHT or 5AR?

Honestly I didn't brush near my gums for many years because it hurt when I did because they were inflammed. I found out about 3 years ago you actually want to brush on the gum line and have the bristles go under the gums. So my cavities almost certainly are a result of poor dexterity with brushing. I now use an electric tooth brush almost exclusively and target the gum lines. I also use fluoride daily now.

But as I begin to go back on finasteride I wanted to make sure there wasn't ever a connection between gums teeth and propecia. So I googled "propecia teeth" and this came up:
http://www.propeciahelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1437
I mean my god, is there anything these people don't claim happen to them as result of propecia! I swear you can google any health problem/condition and it will show up on a propeciahelp forum!

They had two articles on finasteride being studied on gingivi in combination with other drugs/hormones and I can't make sense of any of it. But these guys on the propeciahelp website are raving that their teeth went to crap on finasteride and they never made the connection but that it makes sense! What a bunch of bull ****! The only thing that could possibly have any merit with a connection is that these guys are so stressed that the stress caused teeth issues for them!

To be honest I don't know if I am completely comfortable taking finasteride. But I will at least give it a full two weeks at minimum and hopefully my nerves will settle down about the drug. Plus with other people taking it with me I don't think it will be too bad.

But I think this whole propecia teeth thing on the propeciahelp forum has to be proof that all of that site is a bunch of trolling fear mongering nonsense that it is.

You used finasteride for 10 years -- you aged by 10 years, with everything which it implies
