in my right temple there is one hair standing alive exactly where the hairline used to be 3 years ago, proving the devastation that followed... Its about 1 cm from the hairline I have now. I dont know what to do with this heroic hair. What do you think? should I pull it out? (it might feel lonely :) ) or let it there being fed by minoxidil?

leave it there as a marker to where you need to regrow your hair to.

After twenty years of full male pattern baldness last year I started experiments with various products and my own little device. Like you, I noticed one strong hair re-emerge on its own, so kept my curiousity alive. Now this one hair began to have hundreds of new little friends keeping it company, just vellus at first then becoming intermediate and some terminal. I feel I am just at the beginning of a miracle, and all thanks to that one lonely little soul who had the energy to pop up last year, well in advance of the rest.
So celebrate your little leader, he is trying to tell you what I have discovered, hair follicles can stay dormant for many years. You just need patience and the right techniques to wake them up.
They seem to re-emerge in waves of vellus, these then seem to disappear and some come back as intermediate or terminal hairs.
If I eventualy achieve only a 10% recovery this will look too thin and I will shave it all off, but the experiment is worth trying, just to know that I did my best. My girlfriend doesn't mind me being bald, and now she calls me her "Hedgehog". The density is best at the front and temples, but it is early days, if these follicles have deminaturised after one year, perhaps the rest are ready to sprout up after several more months.
I'll let you all know.

Hmmm...interesting visual:) If you want to keep it for momento sake, go for it. But if you want to go boldly forward where you haven't gone as yet, let it go in anticipation of the healthier hair that will be growing
