On my reigmen how long before I notice anything?

I've been told to expect about 4 months. I've been on finasteride for three weeks. Only side effect so far, acne on forehead has gone. No other positive or negative effects as yet.

Most people here say you should give any treatment at least 6 months before you decide if it's really working for you. Although having said that, I noticed a big improvement after just 8 weeks on Dutasteride and Minoxidil. I'm incredibly pleased about it. I'm now 10 weeks into treatment and looking forward to the next 6 months. Generally though, you usually need to leave it a lot longer than this before you see an improvement.

Had you ever been on finasteride before Dutasteride?

If you see progress within 4 months, consider it a bonus. 12 months is a much more realistic period. There are guys who don't see much progress until that point or even later. Best advice is not to expect anything for a long time...it's like waiting for a pot to boil. Tell yourself now that you won't obsess over your hair during the next many months....don't check for progress on a daily basis - you won't see it and will become discouraged. You'll drive yourself nuts. Check every month or so at most...and don't get discouraged if you don't see progress. It's also very possible that you will go downhill a bit before going uphill....but you will go uphill.
