okay this is going to sound crazy.

If someone in 2015 had 2 suicide attempts, facing a lot of prison time, and also was involved in a car accident where someone else passed away and 3 months after that december in 2015 this person started to lose hair fast, would you call that Telogen Effluvium? This person and his father have the same hair and the father is bald as ****. No hair loss on mothers side what soever. Not making any jokes or long stretches either. My guess Telogen Effluvium is involved plus some male pattern baldness.

It's most likely a mixture of Telogen Effluvium and male pattern baldness. Dare I suggest that hair may be the least of your worries?

lol let me explain this persons situation as well. College student learns how manufacture a prescription pill and sell said pill (this kid is not a murderer) and the car accident was not this persons fault in any way shape or form. All legal issues or anything of that nature is in the past and over with.

finasteride won't help the Telogen Effluvium. The only thing for Telogen Effluvium is to relieve your stress. I know because I'm suffering from Chronic Telogen Effluvium and have been to several Tricholigists. Find something to help compartmentalize your stress. Journaling is awesome for this. Minoxidil may be able to kick start the anagen phase in your hair but I'm not sure if that would work long-term.

Finasteride will cover the male pattern baldness part but may also cause an initial shed that will look bad for awhile if you already have low density. Plus there are side effects you may want to look into. Good luck.

do your temples recede much with Telogen Effluvium? Seeing about 40% density gone with hitting a NW2 within a month. Hair everywhere

I think it's definitely beneficial to be on finasteride during a bout of Telogen Effluvium though... you are losing a ton of hair. Why wouldn't you want to regrow it? Without finasteride, or some androgen blocker that you respond to well, you're doomed for sure.
