I think diffuse thinning is the worst when it comes to hair loss you are fighting it from every where.

Yeah, I'll second that. Your hair looks alright though, seriously. At least from the pics on your page. But i've heard alot of diffuse thinners having poor results with propecia, I wonder if its a different kind of hairloss.

Who says that a lot of diffuse thinners have poor results with finasteride??

If you have male pattern baldness, finasteride treats it by blocking DHT, and allows for hair maintenance in over 88% of men... many of whom experience regrowth.

Finasteride in the main FDA trials, was shown to treat male pattern baldness especially well within the crown/vertex areas.. and it also helps with the hairline but the studies didn't focus on hairline.

So why would finasteride do well in treating crown/vertex (top of the head) but not diffuse thinning which is also on the top of the head?

I have a qestion, most people say if finasteride dose not work at the 12 month mark you should stop. Yet a lot of People and 2 docotrs have told me that the best results can come after 2 years of use?

I also did not say that is dose not work for diffuse thinners i just said i am not sure if it has worked for me just to be clear on were i stand.

I think it works well for me, but it's hard to tell because growth is mixed in with the diffusing hairloss, so it's difficult to monitor new hairs coming in. My hair still looks crumy when wet. I think it works far better for the temples as I can monitor how much new hair is popping up.

I dont know. Diffuse is spread from the very front to the very back. I wasnt saying it like "scientifically speaking finasteride doesnt work for diffuse thinners", it's just something I noticed while browsing through this site, alot of diffuse thinners complain that finasteride is not effective and that their hair still falls out. It's only an observation, not a scientific claim and it wasnt stated as such.

Yeah, yeah. I use it on my whole head, and on my temples... what i'm trying to say is this, since my temples are right up front and border on skin it's very easy to monitor my minoxidil's effectiveness on them. I use it on my whole head, at least on the top effected by male pattern baldness and diffuse thinning, it's just hard for me to tell how many new hairs are sprouting up because they're mixed in with the hairs (thinning hairs) that are already there. I guess it looks a little better, but its really hard to tell. When my hair is wet, I still look like a jackass
