Yes ive had the same ever since starting Propecia in 1999. Im okay on 0.80mg but still a bit oily, but if i go above that dosage my face gets really oily.

My face has been oily before and during propecia. I don't think it has really increased. I did get a pretty bad acne breakout on my chest and back (which has always been clear) a couple days after starting finasteride. but it cleared up in a couple weeks and everything is fine again.

does this oilyness lessen as my body gets used to it or shoukd i just learn how to deal with it (washing the area more often)?

Washing more than twice a day is not supposed to be good for the skin and can actually aggrevate it.

Ive heard for some people it does lessen when they get used to Propecia, for me it has a little, but not much. I use an Oxy face wash daily and a mild acne cream most days.

You had a bad breakout because Propecia releases more testosterone in the first week or so you are on it, then things get back to normal.

If it continues, I would wash the face twice a day and use a non-oil based moisturizer (something glycerin based) right after.

I used to have oily skin, and had a dermo say that oil production in my skin was exacerbated when I would leave it dry and unmoisturized. He put me on a regime of washing my face with a quality facial wash (and NOT soap), exfoliating my face 2x a week, and using the glycerin moisturizer right after washing, while my skin was still moist (NOT wet, but dry and still somewhat hydrated from the shower). Helped my complexion 210%, and I still do it, and to this day I get compliments on my youthful complexion.

For some reason my forehead got real oily around month 8 on finasteride for about 2 weeks. It was like a thin layer of oil. Very starnge. I have never had oily skin, I never even really had pimples or zits.
