Hi. I have been on finasteride for 16 months, and then switched to Dutasteride. Recently, I have noticed a slight increase in sex-drive and a quite oily skin in my (hair less) temples. I just came across this from another topic:

I'm the typical finasteride bad responder: increased sex drive and oily skin.

Is this true - are the above two things signs that you are not responding?

It should be said though, that I have recently had a hair transplant on my temples, so maybe the oil is from that?

You are noticing increased sex drive and facial oil because the dutasteride is blocking more DHT, leaving more free testosterone. Even more, as a result of low DHT, your body is compensating by producing even more testosterone (as DHT is derived from T). As you body equalizes, in a few weeks, you'll probably notice the complete opposite. Your face should become dry and your sex drive decreased.

If anything, the changes show the medicine is doing it's thing.
