Would anyone be able to tell me if any of these oils have anti-androgenic effects/feminizing effects?

I use a mixture of Olive oil, Emu oil and Jojoba oil nightly to combat dryness. Since I started it I've noticed the volume/quality of my ejaculate has drastically diminshed. This could also be a reprecussion of dropping Finasteride only 5-6 weeks ago. My inflammation benifits immensely from these oils andmy hair feels great , I just want to know if there would be any consequences to using these oils on a nightly basis.

Cheerssssss......

Are you kidding? I mean, seriously, how can you ever think that a mixture of topical oil can have a "feminizing effect"? Seeds, from which oil are made, contain phytoestrogens, but they actually reduce excess oestrogens because they bind to oestrogen receptors:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19256735

The so-called phytoestrogens, like genistein and daidzein in soy, can bind to estrogen receptors and therefore interfere with the action of estrogen itself, a well-established risk factor for breast, ovarian and endometrial cancers.

Wellllll Mr.Knowledge,
After seeing the effects of feminizing effects of Lavender and Tea tree oils I thought it might apply to these oils. I don't have a clue about Biology, so I don't understand much of the terms (phytoestrogens, oestrogens). That's basically why I asked the question.. :thumbdown2:

Now if someone else could answer the question please..

This is from the DS labs website:

Spectral.DNC-L strongly inhibits the action of 5-alpha-reductase, thus limiting DHT, sebum, and hair loss.

The best inhibitor, olive extract standardized with its active ingredient, verbascoside, blocks 5-alpha-reductase for healthy sebum regulation. Ripe olives contain biophenols, a class of molecule known for antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties. A major component of the biophenols, verbascoside inhibits 5-alpha-reductase type-2 at a rate 3.5 times greater than the second compound, serenoa repens.

There is the page in which you will read that.

If any oil would, it would be Lavender, but I really doubt that. I have not experienced any negative effects of the oils I use (see regimen)

Bogus trial on supposed effeminating effects of topical oils

It would be helpful when you quote your sources that you use the original studies and not some blogs:
Prepubertal gynecomastia linked to lavender and tea tree oils.Henley DV, Lipson N, Korach KS, Bloch CA.
Receptor Biology Section, Laboratory of Reproductive and Developmental Toxicology, National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709, USA.

Most cases of male prepubertal gynecomastia are classified as idiopathic. We investigated possible causes of gynecomastia in three prepubertal boys who were otherwise healthy and had normal serum concentrations of endogenous steroids. In all three boys, gynecomastia coincided with the topical application of products that contained lavender and tea tree oils. Gynecomastia resolved in each patient shortly after the use of products containing these oils was discontinued. Furthermore, studies in human cell lines indicated that the two oils had estrogenic and antiandrogenic activities. We conclude that repeated topical exposure to lavender and tea tree oils probably caused prepubertal gynecomastia in these boys. 2007 Massachusetts Medical Society

PMID: 17267908 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE]

I have two objection to this study:

1) It says "topical application of products that contained lavender and tea tree oils", but it doesn't say where exactly:
2) "three prepubertal boys".

I mean, come on, how can you make a study and jump to conclusions over three subjects. A serious study should involve tens if not hundreds of patients, this as scientific as to say that because my granma smokes a lot and is still alive then smoking is good...

... and supposedly, that's only in pre-pubescent males. So keep those many shampoos and soaps that contain lavender away from the yunggins.
