Minoxidil is such a whack treatment. I don't know many people who enjoy using it or get any real benefit from doing so.

If you keep on it your hairs will regrow, and you'll possibly even grow a few more. But you will then need to keep on it.

Alternatively, if you stop you'll probably get back to where you were, and you won't have to deal with the hassle.

I shed a lot for a week or so on minoxidil. I am now getting more thickness as I go into 2 months of treatment now. It's nothing massive but it's definitely there.

My regimen seems to be working.

I thought shedding was a good sign, means minoxidil will make those hairs grow back thicker.

Which god? Choose carefully! Your hair is on the line.

In all seriousness, just keep applying it. It works.

Are you using finasteride and nizoral shampoo? You should if not.

thanks for the post keepthehair, when i read that i think i didnt worry about my hair for, ooooh, lets see....30 seconds, its hard but this is taking over my life!
yea Ive been using propecia (finasteride) for 6 halfs months, regaine and nizoral for 17 days. how does propecia work any one, i shed for one and half months then the last three/four months no hair falls at all out, but gradually thinning.
I started on minoxidil and nizoral 17 days ago as i coud feel my head tingling and burning and knew it wasnt good, also a trip to the hairdresseers wasnt nice, when do people see propecia working, ie no more hair loss? anyone got worst on propecia for 6 months then seen results?

I'm kind of going through what you're experiencing, except i'm about 8 months on propecia (10 on minoxidil). feel like i lost about 25% of my density just in the past 4 weeks. I really hope this turns around. I'm not going to stop with treatments - I'm all in. either it works or i'll be in baldville very soon. Though, i sure hope not.

I don't have itching anymore. Not the balding type anyway. My head might itch a little here and there but thats only really when I use minoxidil and it's very mild. It's not that balding annoying itch!

To be honest when my head started itching like crazy I knew I had to do something about my hair loss it was getting extremely bad, really fast. Glad I did. I am having some regrowth for sure and my scalp feels great.

Oh yeah, i've got bad itch. Which i didn't have for months once i started treatment, now it's back with a vengeance. The only thing that works to control it is if i use Nizoral (leave on in shower for 5 mins or so) and then follow that up with American Crew hair and scalp conditioner. This always works great for me. the peppermint in the conditioner makes my scalp feel great and in combo with the nizoral gets rid of the itch for a couple of days. But, it tends to come back, so, need to keep up on it.

What a wretched affliction. I can't shave my head - i'd look horrible and thankfully, don't need to just yet. But, that day will come. Not sure i'll do it or cave in and go for transplant...which i'm no fan of either.

I have only one wish and that's for HM to become a reality soon. Is that too much to ask for? Sheet, i'm running out of time/hair!!!

I think MSM helps my hair grow faster. There is limited evidence for this though. But I take it and will soon take biotin also.

Spironolactone is a an effective topical antiandrogen. It is an TOPICAL alternative to propecia, which works internally. Though, I use both! Finasteride does not inhibit all dht in the scalp therefore I believe there is some benefit in a topical antiandrogen(though only slight).

They aren't that important compared to the big 3(finasteride, minoxidil and a shampoo with ketoconazole such as nizoral). Just use the big 3 and you should be fine. Expand on it if you can afford it and if you are crazy like me.

Minoxidil is a really effective regrowth treatment if you ask me... I am getting some regrowth with it. I am about 2 months into my treatment. Finasteride is a must, it is the most essential of all treatments. It takes a little longer for it to work.

Nizoral shampoo is highly underrated if you ask me... though I use Dr.Lee's regrowth shampoo which I believe is probably better than ordinary nizoral.

Just use the big 3 for sure and expand on that, everything else is skeptical.

I used to be the same way, my hair used to always be on the back on my mind. but after a while and some growth with minoxidil, nizoral and this other treatment i bought at the local store, I dont seem to worry nearly as much. minoxidil does work, at least for me. I plan on upping the dosage to the 10% minoxidil w/ azelaic acid in the near future.

thanks for the replies, 22 days on regaine now and to be honest it has made my hair dreadful, ive gone from a Norwood 1.5/2 to a 2.5 in this time, and so thin on top now, at least 300 hairs in the shower yesterday, shedding now for 2-3 weeks, I wish it would stop,if it keeps on shedding at this rate im in real trouble :(

I shed a lot too. Don't worry it grows back. Most likely better.
