Hi guys . My intentions are not to discourage anyone from trying Propecia, just to give my personal experience. Well I’m 34 been slowly losing my hair in crown area for about 2 years. So after talking with my Dr. about Propecia and its side effects I thought what the heck Ill try it anyways. After 2 weeks I had no side effects (which I wasn’t expecting) but about the third week I started noticing some changes. Yes I know what your saying BULLSHIT but I did. I first started noticing my erection where softer and my semen was very watery and clear. Still I thought no biggie I could live with that. Well one night my wife hopped on top of me and I could not get it up for a while, it was like a wet noodle. Wife didn’t make a big deal she just said “ you must be tiredâ€. Couple days later I had the same experience but I did eventually get erect. I never told my wife I was taking Propecia because I did not want her to add to the psychological effect I hear Propecia might have on someone. But the time came after 4 ½ weeks to stop taking Propecia after wife was performing oral and she asked “Why is your dick so soft and thin looking, its always been thick and veiny what is going onâ€? I just said, Don’t know maybe tired. I don’t know about you guys buy when you partner questions your manhood it really sucks. Well I’ve been off Propecia for 2 weeks and my hard erections are coming back. I have decided Ill stick with Rogaine for now. Hair loss does suck but pleasing my wife and myself is a very important part of life when the time comes when I have a hugh bald spot I guess Ill buzz or shave my head. I guess the hair loss magic pill Propecia was not for me. Maybe later I might start it again just to see if the side effects do return or maybe this was all in my head. If you guys have any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

so you're telling me you are married, but can't admit to your own wife that you are on hair loss medication? that's not a good thing.

also, the sexual side effects that some people experience with finasteride is temporary. if you gave it the amount of time you are supposed to, that problem would likely have subsided. LOTS of people on this forum claim to have had weak erections, reduced libido, watery ejaculate, for the first month or two, and then it goes away.

Your pharmacist sucks. Mine told me there may be sexual side effects for the first couple of months but that they were temperary and that my body would adjust.

Had you have known this, you could have stuck out long enough and see if they went away. Now, if you start up again, you will be at ground zero and have to wait from the begining.

no one knows when the side effects will subside. sometimes they go away after 2 months, sometimes after 2 years. sometimes they APPEAR after 2 years! it's all about how much your hair loss bugs u.

Side effects do go away

I am sure it is not the same for everyone but this is my experience.

I was on finasteride for about 4 weeks with no side effects. Then for at least 4 maybe 6 weeks it was a real struggle to get an erection. No matter how hard I tried it just didn't happen.

I stopped waking up with the reassuring morning glory and my c*m was clear.

But it did return to normal. I can get it up at will and the old boy is staring me in the face when I wake.

Just give your body a chance to adjust.

You can't be sure, if it goes back to normal or not, if you resume to take it. Better quit and save what you still have. You did right. Hopefully you'll get your penis' full glory back.
Any mental side effects?

Erectile Dysfunction (inability to sustain erection) is a very common disorder which most men face in there life at some stage for one reason or the other like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, fatigue, stress, physical injuries, certain medication, smoking and alcohol consumption. The exact reason behind your problem can only be judged by a specialist and only then one should use the medicines prescribed.

hahahaha. what a shill

Why not reduce dosage? 5 minutes worth of research on this board will show you that finasteride is effective at .5mg and even .25mg

And yet nobody has really been able to confirm that lowering the dosage also removes the SIDE EFFECTS. I have another post about it, no one really has claimed that it worked for them.

Late last year I started 1.25mg of finasteride with moderate sides (watery semen, brain fog, and I believe it contributed to depression).

I quit early this year, and after a couple months I started .625mg of finasteride. No sides.

That might be the nail in the coffin in convincing me to try a lower dose. Though i think i'll start at 0.25 and ramp up to 0.5.

How did you manage to get 6.25mg? That seems like an uneven pill split?

Proscar @ 0.625mg = 5mg / 8

There's no way in hell you're going to get EXACTLY 0.625mg, but with enough patience you'll be getting relative doses.

Propecia Problems: Baldness Drug Linked with Long-Lasting Sexual Side Effects

so you're telling me you are married, but can't admit to your own wife that you are on hair loss medication? that's not a good thing.

also, the sexual side effects that some people experience with finasteride is temporary. if you gave it the amount of time you are supposed to, that problem would likely have subsided. LOTS of people on this forum claim to have had weak erections, reduced libido, watery ejaculate, for the first month or two, and then it goes away.

On a side note, I think it's wrong to judge another person's relationship because you have not "walked in their shoes" so-to-speak. In fact, better to not judge anyone.

Regarding Propecia side effects, please see below:
