Obvious minoxidil question

I used minoxidil for about two years and a few months. Upon my one year mark with finasteride, I developed a type of seborrhea and had inflammation on my hairline that lasted for about 10 months (recently stopped finasteride and it settled) I was advised to stop the use of minoxidil due to the irritation and have been off of it since December.

Here is my question:
If you only apply minoxidil to the hairline and quit, can your crown develop a shock loss or catch up loss as well?

I was applying it to my hairline and the sides (don't ask why) only, but I was thinking that maybe minoxidil got absorbed through the veins on my temple and carried itself throughout my entire scalp ? I'm about to try ru and minoxidil now that my scalp is done being inflammed for the most part, but I would like to avoid my crown because I don't want that insane loss of for some reason I have to quit again.

Let me know what you guys think
