I have received a prescription for Propecia from my doctor. Because of price, I have been looking into less costly alternatives to Propecia. The idea of cutting Proscar into fractions is a popular idea on forums around the net. My question is: How will that go over with a doctor? If Proscar is officially declared as a medicine for enlargement of the prostate gland, I am not sure what I would say to my doctor. Would I ask him to prescribe me to Proscar because it's cheaper? What if he said I shouldn't take 5mg at once? Wouldn't I need to justify that it's safe by telling him I'd cut it? And if I told him I intend to cut it, wouldn't he be legally obligated not to give me the prescription? Should I assume that the average person is attaining Proscar from a website that doesn't require a prescription?
PS - I am aware of Cipla's Finpecia and Fincar. I'm just researching the possibilities for Proscar at this time. I've also read about the "risks" of even Merck's Propecia. I've already taken Propecia and am not worried about ED or side effects. Thank you.
