How do I know if I will end up as a NW7 or NW6? I am thinning heavily in a NW6 pattern like these

Notably, the sides come up onto the top of my head and the crown loss does not extend down below the vertex. I can't use minoxidil due to side effects and am afraid of finasteride. So I am thinking of a thinning hair style transplant in the next 2 years. But I know that this would be disastrous if I got to NW7. So how or when will I know if NW7 is going to happen?
Background: it began at age 20-22 (I don't remember) with a slight thinning crown and now, at age 25, there is the clear pattern and not enough hair to wear a comb over or decent buzz cut. The hair was purely thinning with no receding or progression through NW3, 4 etc.. My hair line is the same as always (NW2 approximately). The crown area seems to be mostly miniaturized at the moment and I don't have long left before I will need the transplant.
