Hey guys

Well Im a young fella, 22 years old, and as of today i decided to try to prevent my hair falling off that i used to love so much when it was thick....

I noticed my hair loss in last few years, but it was really slowly, maybe normally, but last year, i had a stresfull year, really, moved to another town, broke up my long relationship...and, as funny as it sounds, my hair started to fall off daily and it was obvious...

and today it looks like this;

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/4373/002gl8.jpg

http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/205/003jf1.jpg

So this is my hair in the morning, without combing...I can "hide" it but I dont want to, I want my hair to grow back if possible...

Also, I was planning on shaving my head to skin, so will the treatments work if my hair is shaved off?

So...listetning to advices...what to start...where to buy...Im currently living in Austria but I'm willing to make some online shopping, why not

Thanks and read you later 8)

Firstly it makes no different if you shave your hair or you don't as it is the hair follicles under the skin which is responsible for growth.
The first treatment you should consider is Propecia which is a pill you take once a day. This will block the hormone DHT which is responsible for male pattern baldness. Once you start blocking dht you need to regrow your hair. You can do this by buying Rogaine foam which is a type of mouse you put in your hair twice a day which dries in under two minutes. These two treatments are very effective and they are approved by the FDA. After these two treatments you can combine two additional treatments if you wish. One would be a topical DHT blocker such as Eucapil which you could apply before you go to bed after Rogaine. The final treatment you could use would be a laser comb - some will say it is useless but this is not neccessarily true. So to summarise it is essential to use:

1. Propecia
2. Rogaine

You may want to use also:

A topical DHT blocker
and a laser comb.

your hair loss is still at the initial stage, the frontal loss is more serious than the crown loss. I would suggest big 3. They should at least maintain what you have for a long while.

Where to start? Not an easy answer, but judging by your pictures, you'll probably want to regrow a bit of your hair, correct? Personally, I only see four options, ordered from least to best chances of regrowth. Option #3 is the most clinically tested and proven way to regrow hair as soon as possible.

1. Take finasteride (propecia) 1mg every day for 9-12 months. Observe results, and if you're not happy add 5% minoxidil 2x a day.

2. Take dutasteride (avodart) 0.5mg every day for 9-12 months. Observe results, and if you're not happy add 5% minoxidil 2x a day.

3. Get on finasteride (propecia) and minoxidil 5% immediately. Use Nizoral shampoo 3-4 times a week.

4. Get on dutasteride (avodart) and minoxidil 5% immediate. Use Nizoral shampoo 3-4 times a week.

he probabily wants to regrow some in the frontal area, so it might be a good idea to just take route 3.

ragingdemon, please give this guy honest information,he is not in the initial stages of hairloss, because the initial stages are not ver noticiable and this guy has some major thinning however i do think you are right in telling him to get on treatment and i believe he could make almost a completa recovery

What I've learned from other and this forum, I see the route 3 is the most common and at least has at least a decent success...

Are you saying this because dutasteride supposedly ruins the front or because finasteride is a safer drug? I ask b/c I plan on using dutasteride in the future, but I hope it doesn't mess up the front.

Exactly the same happened to me 2 years ago. I have been losing my hair for 10 years, but my fastest progression happened with that stressful experience, all in the same year. :!:

Sorry to hear that bro. I know that in some way, emotions are tied to hair loss. When a person is stress free and happy, they have more hair. Is this true? I think so.
