Very interesting, nothing to do with regrowing hair though.

Also this is genetic engineering. The genes for the mice were devised specifically, would only apply to babies that are genetically engineered.

Discussion of this on reddit.

Thought you guys would like the reply to the top comment.

>We've also been able to erase memories of mice and rats and even done some memory restorations. We have even been able to Turn Genes on and off, like restore Teeths to Chickens which they havent had for many many thousands of years, if not millions. We are hitting a new Golden Age in Gene manipulation and Biological breakthroughs!

Self-driving cars are a thing and an inevitable replacement to taxis, delivery drivers, etc.

Japanese highschoolers are the first in the world to hatch a chicken outside of its shell

CRISPR

Data stored on DNA

...sh*t's gettin' Sci Fi out there

You can quote me on this. The biggest thing of our lives will be artificial intelligence. Computers are surpassing humans at more and more things. Neural networks, other statistical methods, the massive amount of data we are gathering combined with continually improving hardware.

Within 10 years a computer will be able to diagnose your sickness far better than any doctor. So many other jobs will be surpassed by computers.

At some stage we will likely design a computer, with abstract thinking capabilities and a set of goals, that will be able to improve its own design with no human interaction. This improved design will be even better at improving it's own design. Extremely rapid technological progress rendering the human intellect useless. Known as the technological singularity. Probably not in our lifetimes, maybe not ever, but there's no reason why it's theoretically not possible.

Google's AI beating the worlds best GO player using neural networks got me excited this year. Read up on how that works if you're interested in where we are at currently.
