not being recognized after losing your hair

Has anyone had this happen to them? While in a club last night I walked up to a friend that I hadn't seen in about 6 years (still had hair then) and at first he didn't recognize me (it was obvious from his first reaction) then I could tell he started looking at the top of my head and then back down to my eyes and all of a sudden he was like "hey how are ya" .. Anyway, it was just kind of frustrating. Have you had this happen since your appearance changed by losing your hair?

Yeah it's happened to me several times. People saying dumb things like 'wow, last time I saw you, you had loads of hair, I wouldn't have recognized you on the street'.
It doesn't bother me that much, I do look pretty different.
