I have a question but not sure where to post so I will put it here to hopfully get a response.
Oncea man begins balding will it not continue until death or reaching NW6 which ever comes first. If not, where/how to determine the end point. I had read somewhere on here that some people hit a slow down around 45? If so, will the person with a tranplanted hairline an crown eventually have a bald mid section when things resume. I really don't fancy the idea of taking an anti-hormone (finasteride) for 20 years just to keep an island afloat in the middle of my head.
Keepinthehair,
balding is based on your genetics, you need to give the situation an analysis and base them upon your mothers and fathers side. This is an answer only you can find out for yourself. Upon what I believe, certain people maintain a norwood 1-2.5 of which i classify as a mature hair line. In addition to mature hair lines, most people will experience either a crown balding (following itself to the front), connection between crown, and frontal recession, and finally frontal recession progressing towards the crown. It all depends on the male pattern baldness you are associated with. Concerning norwood 4.5-6.0 these are the usually the end points.
Unfortunately if you were to get a frontal transplant, your remaining hair will still be effected with DHT, and the pattern will continue to progress resulting in an odd shape hair pattern, people might mistaken you for alopcia diffuse thinner. The solution to remain having a mid section is to take finasteride, and minioxidol to "maintain", and grow strong hair follicles. (Assuming you have already transplanted frontal, and crown based on your post)
Everyone is affected differently from male pattern baldness, as I said earlier it's up to you to get a good judgment on your family history and see how you will stand out. This isn't to say you will have the exact hair line, but gives you a better insight of what you are dealing with. To my knowledge I would suggest you remain using finasteride, and min if you've taken the ideal approach and gotten a transplant in regards to a remedy apart from a toupee. Then i highly recommend continuing treatment or all will seem that your money for a hair transplant went down the drain. As blunt as I come off that's how it is.
it is up to you my friend, based on these forums people swear by the "BIG 3."
