This thread confuses me. "Appropriate" would be no hair loss ever. Isn't that why we're all on these boards?

If we're being conservative here, nobody should be more than an NW2 before 40 years old, anybody under 40 (especially under 30) who goes over NW2 just doesn't look right. Young people and male pattern baldness just looks weird. By 50 years old NW3 may look age appropriate. By 60 anything goes, you're old, you're wrinkly, probably about to retire...

Norwood 2 with some minor diffuse thinning into old age is the dream. Use that donor, no point taking it to the grave with you.

In reality I would say a 70 year old man with Norwood 3V but thickish hair otherwise, it's okay. Can have a graceful comb over.
