I'm pretty sure it depends on the amount of time that the follicles have been dormant for. If you were one of these people that just recently lost a lot of their hair.....who knows?? However, if this is the case, then your case of hairloss is probably very agressive and harder to fight. Overall though, to go from a N7 to anything resembling a good head of hair is almost a certain 100% no. The best thign about being a NW7 is that you can;t possibly lose anymore hair...think about it. You'll never look into the mirror again and say "damn, I'm losing a lot of hair!" Why put yourself through that again and PAY for it?

i totally disagree with that comment because now comes the hard reality of being bald for the rest of your life, but i do underswtand what you mean about not losing anymore because that is the single hardest thing about hair loss other than it makes you look bad

About as much chance as growing new teeth. nw7 baldness is like another level it as extreme as it gets. If you've got that hardcore hairloss in your genes I'd probably say that no matter when you start treatments you'll probably still go bald. A nw7 going onto get a anywhere near decent head of hair would be like a midget growing to be 6 foot tall ie: nothing short of a miracle.

Just for the f*** of it, take some pictures and get on duta 2.5mg + rogaine foam 2* day + retin-a 0.050% + nizoral every 3 days for 10 mins. Then wait 2 years and come back here and post your photos.

what a colossal waste of money unless he's lost it all within the past couple of years. i mean dutasteride 2.5 mg a day is like $2000 a year. you said do it for two years. he might as well just get an hair transplant and become an NW4 again rather than try that.

If you're a nw7 you would'nt even be able to get to nw6. There is no hope for nw7 it wont grow back.

if you are a NW7, you can only hope that HM comes out within this life time.

It would be f*****g expensive you'd need about 20,000 grafts.

if the average caucasian head has 100,000 hairs on it, how many does the average NW6 and NW7 head each have on it would you estimate?

Jayman, I'd say that a nw6 probably has about 60-65,000 left and a nw7 about 45-50,000. I've seen nw6's go to nw2 with about 8,000 grafts and you'd struggle to get anymore out of a donor area. Armani claims he can get 15,000 but thats BS :jackit: the most I've ever seen done was 10,000 and obviously that patient had awesome donor characteristics. But for a nw7 there is barely any donor available and no Dr with any shred of ethics would perform a hair transplant on a nw7. Although I have seen it done. :shakehead:

Goata007 with such a high degree of loss at such a relativly young age I would think that its possible that you could progress all the way to nw7. Sorry mate. :(

Needlesting I agree at nw6 its abit to late to start on treatments you'd probably be wasting your money, but I also think that Hm for a nw6/7 would be more expensive than a decade or two's worth of treatments.

you guys think if I get on treatments I can at least go back to NW3-4? I have started using topical spironolactone (lee's) from about 2 weeks and it has made my scalp feel very calm!

I'm thinking about using licorice too but not expecting much regrowth from that. The only hope I have now is Follica & Intercytex. This level of baldness really sucks, especially at my age

I feel you brother, I think you should focus on your career and start saving some money. If HM does come out, at least you can afford it to restore your hair to its former glory.

Best of luck mate!

Are you sure you're really NW7? Thats total Hairloss on not just the top, but also loss down the back and up on the sides aswell.
As its been said before if you have progressed to that stage you're really just wasting money on treatments. Look at the expeiriences of most on here, even for nw1.5's an 2's regrowth is rare and usualy very, very small. Theres no way that current treatments will grow it back. Sorry but I'm just giving it to you straight. I think it would be better for you to accept it and just shave what you have left. :(

topicals are less effective than internals. Try dutasteride, minoxidil and nizoral.
