Nortriptyline - Massive Hair Shedding (sudden)

I started taking 20mg Nortriptyline around mid-January.

Since mid to late March I've had an enormous volume of hair shedding every single day.

Morning I wake up - run my fingers through the hair at the sink and around 50/60 hairs fall into the sink over 30 seconds.

Evening before sleep - run my fingers through the hair at the sink and around 50/60 hairs fall into the sink over 30 seconds.

Also when I shower and run water/shampoo through my hair a similar quantity of hair falls to the floor.

The hair strands that fall are 80% long length hairs (with the occasional short length.)

I have stopped taking Nortriptyline as there are some studies that suggest that certain anti-depressants may trigger abnormal hair shedding.

Anyone else suffer from high volume of hair shedding whilst on any anti-depressants?

PS - last year I was on an anti-biotics course and a week into it experienced hair shedding fairly similar to this, stopped the course and hair shedding stopped a few days later.

i don't know. but at once point in my life like 5 months or so before i had the same problem. whenever i dipped my hand through my hair it shed like 15 piece every time. and it literally won't stop i can do it over and over again and hair would keep contiune to fall. now its gone even if i pull my hair it won't shred but thing is the hair on my top got very thin. i can see my scalp through my hair now.
anyways just trying to say becareful btw i didn't use any meds
