Normal to recede at 21? Panicking

I'm exaclty 21 years old and 7 months. I'm a caucasian male and noticed I have that V-shape you know those corners or bald spots on the left and right side of your front hair. The right corner is ok but the left corner is definitely more receded. Besides that I have really nice, thick and great hair everywhere else. But is this normal to experience at my age? The only males in my family who have thinning hair is my father; he is 64 and I can say he is at Norwood chart type 4-5 and my uncle (mother's brother) who is 40 has like type 3-4. Every other male in my family just had those corners but no balding. Below are some pics how my hairline is, those are pics of Johnny Depp, Charlie Sheen and Christian Slater.

These guys where all in their early 20s (Charlie Sheen was 21 and Slater was 23) and still have their hair today and that really gives me hope but I'm still bugging out since I think my left temple receded a little more.

It's normal to recede as early as 15, Can start as soon as puberty has finished. I wouldn't put much stock in those celebrity pictures, Those are not examples to go by. Celebrities with hairloss anywhere from nw2 and nw3 can pull of full head of hair in front of the camera, and thicken up their hairlines quite nice. Charlie sheens hairline has been the same as far as I can tell since he was in platoon, Aside from the natural progression as he's gotten older. He's got great hair genes. Depps been looking like he was losing his as of the last 5 years, But that pic is from cry baby I think, Which is an older movie, he was much younger then, And slater has been losing his for a long *** time, he's on meds for sure.

But yea Some people do naturally have a pretty High V, And maybe you do as well, Having one doesn't mean your losing your hair. But your saying you've just noticed it, Which would mean it's been a recent progression. Check the surrounding areas for diffusion, Does the hair in those areas look thinner? Is your scalp visible. If your hairloss is just starting the rest of your head should be in great shape, Male patter baldness doesn't happen over night, It takes years, But every couple of months if you are balding, You'll notice it progressively getting worse. If you are actually balding at your age It won't be long before there is any disputing it. If you aren't however you'll also know, Because it won't get worse.

If you could provide a pic that would be helpful, It would be easier to see if your just paranoid or actually showing the beginning signs of male pattern baldness.

Here's the thing, I already had corners I think at around 18.

All those guys are rumoured to have had hair transplant's. Dont know about Depp and Sheen but Slater has definatley had a few procedures done.

the posistion you find your self in now is how i was 18 months ago,with slight recessed temple points,to be fair much better than yours,my history of balding (family history)sounds much better than yours ,after first noticing the slight recession i told my self it was a maturing hairline,how wrong was i ,from then on male pattern baldness has kicked my arse big time.

the only advice i can give you is try not to worry about it,because there is not 1 thing in your power to stop male pattern baldness,sure try finasteride,dutasteride,minoxidil but these will do little

I did some measurements. I read that if use raise your eyebrows and see that last wrinkle it should be about 1/2-3/4 inch away from your hairline. For me it was about 1/4. And my corners are about 1 inch deep away from the hairline. But yes at the peak and around the corners I have miniaturized hairs but I think everybody has those miniaturized hairs even my mother or my girlfriend who have more hair then to go around.

And also I just saw a pic of myself where I was almost 18, I already had the right corner receded and it stayed the same even till now. I guess the left one caught up and got even more receded. I also read that it is not uncommon for one corner to be more receded then the other.
