I forgot how much hair I lost in the shower before male pattern baldness set in.
Anyone know of any facts on this? I know the 100 hairs a day theory for non-male pattern baldness, but what is average in the shower?
Thanks guys....
cheers!

Hard to tell, it totally depends on the person. There are so many people around losing 100+ hairs a day with lasting thick hair. Look at the girls sitting in front of you and how many fallen hairs are sticking to their shirts..
I don't remember how many hairs i lost in the shower prior to when male pattern baldness set off. Probably a lot less than right now, but i wish i could make the comparison.
I currently lose 25 (when not shedding) to 60 (when shedding) hairs in the shower. It sometimes goes up to 100+. At those times, i really feel that propecia is not working. Right now things have seemed to improved a bit, for the third time or so.

This is a good question. Part of the problem is that when you start to worry about balding you notice hairloss that you wouldn't have noticed before. For example, now when I shampoo my hair I look in my hand to see how many hairs are there, this is something I've never done in the past.

These days, when I have probably 5-10 noticable hairs lost in the shower, a few more on my hands when I apply minoxidil, and then 5-10 more in the sink after brushing my hair. I feel like this is more than in the past, but like I said I really am conscious of the hair I'm losing so that could be the difference.
