No Result On finasteride 5mg A Day For 7 Months. Should I Consider dutasteride?

I have tried spironolactone 200mg for 14 months. Didn't grow me any hair. finasteride 5mg a day for over 7 months. Hairline went to sh*t and overall thinner and thinner. The only regrowth I had was vellus hair.

Is it now time to consider dutasteride? What my dosage should be?

No, female. I tried minoxidil without DHT blocker before for 1.5 year. Did nothing.

amazing how finasteride can just obliterate a hair line. When I first tried it, my hair line stayed intact and I lost 50% of my midscalp and crown. But, recently this year I tried microdosing it for 5 months and it just DESTROYED everything in front. Just obliterated it. no joke.

Are you having any scalp inflammation (itching, pressure, burning, etc...) along with your hair loss on finasteride?

I tried dutasteride for a few weeks after finasteride failed me last year... My scalp went crazy. massive itching, burning, crawling.. to the point I literally almost went insane. TBH, I rarely hear of legit stories where dutasteride helped when finasteride failed.

I don't think 5ar inhibitors work as well for female-pattern baldness as they do for male-pattern baldness. As far as I know, it is hit and miss whether finasteride or dutasteride will work or not for any particular woman's hair loss. In your case, seven months is not enough time for you to know whether finasteride is working for you. It can take up to a year for visible results to show. You need to give it a bit longer. If it still isn't working after a year, I'd say you should then consider moving to dutasteride.

She has every right to post here if she wishes. Women are entitled to post here just as men are.
