It's about time to make another purchase. I know Aplunk was/is a big fan of H&S. What do you guys think about the new H&S Intensive Solutions line? It's got 2% zinc-piro. Opinions?

It's a very beneficial shampoo to use.

However, I would not use it instead of Nizoral, but rather use it in addition to it, cycling both with your non-medicated shampoo of choice on off days.

This is always a judgement call, some people have sensitive scalps and others have bulletproof ones.

I'd suggest using nizoral 2-3 times a week, H&S 2-3 times a week, and I would use a non-medicated on the off days. I think the non-medicated would help prevent buildups, which medicated shampoos tend to leave on hair.

Again, this is very much a personal judgement call. Shampoos are really a matter for one to try and experiment with to find a mix that works for you and makes your hair feel good.

Would using 1% nizoral only once a week have much of an effect? I honestly don't like shampooing my hair more than once every one or two weeks....makes my hair really poofy and hard to style.

You're lucky... when I sleep, I get bed head that can only be correct by washing my hair. and it's not a cool bed head either.... from what I read, you're supposed to use nizoral about at least twice a week, which is what I use, and then I use thickening shampoo/conditioner and then moisturizers to contain my fro.

Should always wash hair every 2-3 days at most to keep scalp clean and avoid sebum buildup to clog folicles. Leaving it a week is not good and you would have to have a very dry scalp to be able to..suggest eating more oily foods in this case..fish, dairy products etc
