bought my 1st bottle of nizoral the other day..£5. its a tiny white bottle, 60ml. this the same as most of you guys have? anyway, it says on the bottle and the box, use every 3-4 days for 1st 2 weeks till dandruff clears, then use once every 1 or 2 weeks to maintain a dandruff free scalp.

heres what gets me..on both the bottle and box it says in big bold letters, do not use more frequently than stated. so how can people justify using it 3x a week?

they tell me to only use 1ml of minoxidil too, but I screw that advise as well. they also tell me to only drink 4 beers per day, but i prefer a six pack on a good night. they also say that hamburger eating is bad for you and should be kept at a minimum, but that doesnt stop me from my daily double bacon ultimate cheeseburger for lunch

Usually the advice like that on the Nizoral bottle is mainly a cover-your-*** move from the company that makes it. Nizoral is a very strong anti-fungal and you should not overuse it, but I don't think that three times a week, or even every other day is all that dangerous. At least not from my experience.

 I've been using Nizoral everyday for the last 3weeks. No problems here, I hope......

It is only 2percent and it also comes in a small white bottle.

Keep in mind that 2% is the 'Extra Strength' dosage. Normal Nizoral only has 1% in it. It is a powerful anti-fungal, I wouldn't recommend everyday use.

How about if I used Nizoral 3 times a week and TGel for 3-4 days a week?

That would be much better... at least you are applying different substances so that you won't over-accumulate one of them.

I still think it is a bit much... I'd use a normal, non-medicated shampoo at least once or twice a week just for the sake of your hair. The anti-fungals tend to dry hair out, but if your hair can take constant Nizoral and T-Gel then no worries for you. I recommend you find a combination that includes the Nizoral 3-4 times a week, and work in T-Gel and/or a normal non-medicated shampoo until you find a combination that your scalp and hair seem to enjoy.

hmmm im not sure. i think il probably use nizoral every 3-4 days for the 1st 2 weeks and then use it 1x per week, standard non-medicated shampoo 4x per week, and just cold water the other 2 days. il see how it goes and increase nizoral usage if dandruff gets bad.

anyone else share my cautious approach? its just that it says do not use more frequently than stated in at least 4 places on the packaging and bottle...and its strong stuff. why overuse it if your scalp is not dry at all? couldnt it have a harmful effect on hair, or even damage follicles?

ps my bottle doesnt say 1% or 2%, but is a small white bottle with red label and is 60ml, bought from boots the chemist. this the right one?
