Nizoral shampoo bad for your liver?

Ketoconazole tablets may have side effects that affect the liver, but I haven't heard anything about side effects from using the shampoo. Perhaps they are speculating that 2% may somehow be absorbed systemically.

I would say the same, only the tablets can affect the liver, but not the shampoo. Well, hope so...

It probably gets into the bloodstream when you put in on your scalp

It does NOT get into the bloodstream. At least, not according to a fascinating study I saw a while back. It apparently had to do with early testing of the drug for use in a shampoo, and they applied much larger amounts to test subjects than they would be exposed to during normal use of a shampoo. If I recall correctly, there were only virtually untraceably low levels of the drug that got absorbed systemically.
