Nizoral question

When you use Nizoral shampoo do you just wash you scalp with it or do you put it on for some time and let it do its job?

I wash with it first, and leave it in while I wash the rest of my body, then rinse it last. 5 minutes is suggested, though I would not stand around that long if you are done in 3.

I prewash with a cheap, gentle shampoo in 30 seconds or less, then use only 1mL of nizoral. It spreads well then. I heard zink dandruff shampoos help, so I mixed 20% in with my baby shampoo, both generic.

I pretty much do the same...about 3 minutes...just can't stand there for 5 minutes as most time in hurry. Hope still effective at 3 minutes.

Thinking about adding this to my routine, do you guys use 1 or 2%?

I realize only 1% is available OTC in the US, but regardless..

just get the 1%. If you can get the 2% for the same price, buy it and mix it with another shampoo to make cheaper 1%. I'm going to add some of my oleic acid and safflower oil to my nizoral to make it less surfacting by pre-saturating it. Not too much though. I'm not having any problems, but a woman told me that showering daily is not healthy. it think it is just for the shafts, but maybe it is for the roots too. The oil will take care of that. As long as I keep the pH the same, the active ingredient should still work, though I don't know if the oil would affect the penetration.
