That's my current regimen. Going really well so far.
I started Nizoral/PO alternating days about 4 and 1/2 months ago. I let them sit on my scalp for about 4-5 minuntes in the shower. They make my scalp feel really clean and I seem to tolerate them well considering I use 1 or the other every day. The only side effect would be dry hair but conditioner helps with that.
I've been on .25mg of finasteride EOD for about 10 weeks now. I was on Pumpkin Seed Oil (supposed to inhibit DHT) for about a month before starting finasteride while I contemplated the pros and cons of it. Slightly watery semen and a slight decrease in sex drive are the only noticeable side effects. Water semen doesn't bother me at all and the decreased sex drive is very tolerable.
Also just to note I also take Grape Seed Extract which is supposed to inhibit DHT to some degree and also stimulate hair growth. I've been taking this for years though and it's inclusion was not based on hair loss. I have no idea if it helps at all. I am trying Zinc Picolinate try to and help with the sex drive but I'm not sure it's doing much. Maybe slight benefits.
Overall it's going great so far. I haven't had any shedding issues (any worse than usual anyway) yet, knock on wood. Obviously I haven't gained any new terminal hairs yet but under a bright light I can see of ton of miniaturized hair growing. They haven't gained any thickness but they are an inch or two longer than they were which has to be a good sign for the future.
No plans to increase my finasteride dosage or change any aspect of my routine for a while. Gonna wait until at least 6 months on finasteride to assess it's effectiveness at this dose.
