Hey, just wondering, I use Nizoral 1% about 3 times a week as recommended. I generally dont wash my hair more then 3 times a week so is it ok to wash it with Nizoral alone? Ive seen it mentioned that it can dry out your hair....?

Yes interesting, on the 2% bottle it does not even use the word "Shampoo".

Sounds OK to me. You may want to occassionally skip a week and use something else so your scalp gets a break.

Makes your scalp itchy? Isnt that one of the things its supposed to fight against? How often do you use it?

I have experienced itchiness myself and have read of various other people doing the same. My advice: Just stop it!

I use it 3x aweek. I will be going to one time a week. Why do you suggest i quit? I still don't understand how its suppose to help with hair growth

Because I did not only experience itchiness but I also lost more hairs when shampooing. If you experience the same I suggest you to stop. In the end it is up to you. Maybe once a week works better for you. In general it can be said that Nizoral won´t do that much on its own so why risk an eventual damage by it?

I didn't realise there was a Nizoral 1%, I thought the 1% was called Nizorelle? Mine just says that it's 20kg/g, is that 2%?

20kg/g? Uk78, that's some super strength sh*t you've got there.

Yeah, I assume the 20mg/g stuff is 2% - that's what it works out at anyway. Why they don't just say 2% I don't know....

And some of you guys have had an increase in itchiness using Nizoral? Odd. Seems to be working for me. Maybe you're allergic to one or more of the ingredients...

Thats what I would think. Nizoral should not make your scalp itchy at all its supposed to help fight against itchy/flakey scalp...

Overall I have found it great, it sometimes itches a bit whilst I'm waiting 5 minutes with it on my head in the shower but is fine once washed off, I also went through a phase of using it as my only shampoo and it really dried my hair out but now I'm back to twice a week. finasteride and nizoral pretty much eliminated my male pattern baldness itch.

Nizoral has been AMAZING for me. Before I started on it my scalp was really itchy and had the horrendous dandruff you have ever seen, I guess it was Seb Derm. My Doctor prescribed 2% nizoral and within a few weeks (probably less in fact) it had stopped the itch and cleared up the Seb Derm superbly. My scalp is now clean, cool and crisp. No ill effects either.

Top marks.
