Nizoral and doctor Lee's variation

Hey guys,

Some of you are probably aware of my quest to find an effective all natural (or at least no sides) regimen to combat hair loss. Dr. Lee's regrowth shampoo seems interesting to me because it appears to be a more effective/pleasant to use Nizoral? I have a few questions:

1) Do any of you have anything to say on your experience with these (either or comparing both)?

2) Do the active in ingredients (ketoconazole for both and adding Salicylic Acid for Dr. Lee's) have any side effects whatsever? (I know if taken internally Keto has some sort of nasty liver side)

3) Does the use of these shampoos screw the condition of your hair up (I notice some topicals help prevent male pattern baldness, but also make your hair look like crap in the meantime)?

4) Do these shampoo's cause an increase in shedding?

5) If these shampoo's actually cause some regrowth; is it dependent on the treatment in the sense of "minoxidal dependent hair" or is it more "legit" hair that can be maintained or lost in the usual fashion.

I'm considering this heavily, so any information you could have would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You have an open thread in this forum about Dr Lee shampoo, and several about Nizoral if you do a search.

1. Nizoral experience: nice for my scalp. If it regrowths hair, I will never know, because I use different things at the same time. No experience with Dr lee or Revita

2. Any side effect? No problems. Think that you use a very tiny amount (like 2 grams per application) of 2% Keto 2 or 3 times a week, during 3 min. I cannot believe that it is going to have any internal effect that amount.

3. How does it look my hair after using it? Bad, lifeless, like straw. That is why I think I will apply it 2 nights p week. I don't want to use conditioner afterwards, just in case it stops absortion. This is a very personal view, most people don't agree and they use conditioner afterwards.

4. No shedding for me.

5. Nizoral dependent hairs? If it regrowths hair, why do you want to stop it? It is cheap, you have to use it 2 or 3 times a week, and you need shampoo anyway. I don't know if there is any experiment that says if you stop using it all the hair you regrowth will shed. But using common sense, I wouldn't take any risk.

Cool, are there any more of you with input on these products and their comparisons; and especially on the side effects question (though I agree with you its unlikely).

Also, i'm aware there are other threads; but I wanted to make one that had a concise list of questions, like I broke it down above. Thanks.

Thumbs up for Nizoral here. No sides, other than it does tend to leave a bit of buildup in your hair on the night you use it, making my hair feel a bit dry... but the next morning when I use my normal, non-medicated shampoo, it washes out.

About side effects, on my experience, take everything you reed here with a pinch of salt. People with no side effects and good results are unlikely to post. Then the amount of people with side effects in this or any forum are not representative of the overall consumer.

Gotcha; so it seems like nizoral is good; can anyone make a comment on whether Doctor Lee's variant is better than standard nizoral? Thanks.

Also I suppose i'll hit pubmed/medline to see what i can find about topical keto sides, if there are any.

you dont think that a lotion which can be used every day, and doesnt need to be rinsed off after 5 minutes would have no extra benefits? it would be far more potent.

Where can one get this lotion? How expensive is it? Is it worth it to use if you're already using topical spironolactone?
