So I read that various drugs work by increasing the amount of nitric oxide produced in the scalp.

But if nitric oxcide is good, why can't we apply that directly to the scalp? I see pills of it cheap on amazon!

What gives?

nitric oxide is a molecule, not an element...different game when trying to stabilize and get into your system....NO is usually produced by your body AFTER giving it the necessary inputs -- beet juice is a HUGE one for increasing NO levels in your body...

Sure its a molecule. So is minoxidil and spironolactone and damn near everything else we rub on our heads. Why would it not at least potentially work topically? To big a molecule to penetrate the scalp?

Interesting about beet juice.

you can't just put NO in a capsule...you have to trigger your body to synthesize it

I'm taking citruline malate. Body converts citruline malate into arginine, which helps with the nitric oxide production.
You can also take arginine directly, but it is not absorbed very well, so citruline malate is better

Citruline malate + cardio training, and you're golden

Vitamin D3 induces nitric oxide synthase

Nitric Oxide is used to treat Pulmonary Hyper Tension in newly borns and sometimes adults. Its half life is so short it doesn't get past the pulmonary capillaries. You would need a constant amount of it for it to do anything.
