I've been using finasteride for a year and a half with no results. I've actually lost a great deal of hair since i've started it. Could just be coincidental or possibly finasteride "slowed" loss but if thats the case i cant even imagine how fast i would have lost without it since i lost almost all density in the front third of my head and quit a bit throughout the nw5 area. I'm currently only taking it eod and thinking about stopping it altogether but don't want to make things worse. I've been using rogaine foam and revita for about six months and although i think it has helped thicken my hair a little bit its not spectacular. I just added tricomin a few days ago so obviously dont know how well it will work if at all. I'm really just not sure what i should do next. I'm only 18 and i really just want to try to make it back to baseline- probly a nw2 with thin hair but not able to see scalp atleast, and maintain for a few years so i can enjoy my college years. Does anybody have ANY suggestions what to do next? Obviously price is a bit of an issue, also im not sure if i should try multiple things at once. Obviously just trying one thing at a time would let me know exactly what is effective or not but i dont want to take to long in finding something that works and have it be to late. Here is a list of things im considering if anyone could let me know their opinion it would be greatly appreciated.
Topical Sprio 5% cream from dr lee or wholesale hair products
Folligen- might switch during summer cause of price and some say its more effective if i dont see results with tric
12.5 minoxidil or 15 xandrox- i seem to be a minoxidil responder but dont know if i want to become dependent on that high a concentration yet
Virile mane- some buzz about it and its pretty cheap
Progesterone cream- some say its helpful with maintenance atleast but im looking for more regrowth but its also fairly cheap
Topical Flut- obviously worried about sides with this but if spironolactone does nothing might consider trying it eod or mwf
Prox n- might try if folligen and tric don't do anything but its a bit expensive is the lef version any good?
Dutas- Might be a last resort. I'm not to worried about sexual sides but more about the used of dht in brain and its long term effects. Since i wasnt a responder to propecia would this even work? Are generics any good since i probably wouldnt be able to afford avodart or get a script? Also worried if propecia made things worse this could be that x2
