I have been shedding pretty bad for about two years now, luckily I was blessed with very thick hair so I still look fine to the untrained eye. But lately, the sight of my scalp after towel drying my hair has prompted me to take action.

After spending countless hours browsing this site, I have decided that finasteride, nizoral 2%, American Crew Revitalize or Tricomin, and vitamin supplements will be my first line of defense. I will give it a solid year too. If I still want more, perhaps I'll add minoxidil to the party.

I've heard about the sexual side effects from finasteride, but that will be a relief for my girlfriend since I always want to have sex with her.

Anywho, just thought I would share, feedback would be great.

sounds like you're on the right track.

I realize minoxidil is a PITA - but be informed that minoxidil is a hair growth stimulator, while the finasteride and nizoral are designed to more combat DHT.

But if you can survive without the minoxidil - more power to you.

I also think the copper peptides are a good idea.

(Did you ever hear of zix? That seems to be something I try and point newbies towards. It's relatively safe, natural, inexpensive - and many swear by the stuff. http://www.advinfoprod.com/hair_loss_treatment_1.htm )

Thanks for your feedback. I know that minoxidil is inevitable but I'm very low maintenance so I want to see how well my initial plan works before adding minoxidil. I just ordered 3 bottles of nizoral 2% from that Canadian site, I plan to use it twice a week. How long should that supply last me?

Also, I forgot to note: Since I've been shedding I've noticed that my scalp itches. I don't know if there is a direct correlation between shedding and itchiness, but I've heard it from other members so I thought I'd share. Hopefully the nizoral takes care of the itch. It seems to itch in the areas I'm thinning the most.
