I'm 30 years old. Noticed some thinning on my crown around april. Don't really see it except for when my hair is wet. I called a salon and a lady said she would put her 30 year reputation on the line for Nioxin shampoo and scalp treatment to slow down thinning hair. I tried it along with Provillus pills. My thinning was fast for about a month and it has slowed down considerably. I notice around 10 to 20 hairs in the tub after a shower where before I would see much more. My question is:

Will I continue to gradually lose hair or will it sometimes thin out for a while then stop?

If it were you would you get on something else right now while the condition isn't that bad or should I wait to see?

I'm afraid to try other things right now because I don't want to go through a shedding phase. I'm happy with my hair right now, but it's a thin line between being unhappy with it. If I shed too much more it would be very noticable and quite depressing. Just looking for some input from you guys. I was happy to find this site for a little support. Thanks for the advice.

If your not shedding as much thats a very good sign. Just keep checking in every week and taking photos to monitor your progress... if you feel that it starts to look worse then mabye adding propecia or minoxidil could be worth it.

I'm suprised that if those pills are working because from what ive read its overpriced and 'scamlike' but yeah, dont go jumping off it yet incase!

Leaves it feeling really good, just don't know if it's really working. The lady at the salon swears on it and she is very popular around town.

Somebody suggested using Nizoral Shampoo and Propecia? What do you guys think? Should I cut the propecia in half or forths to lessen side effects? Does knock off finasteride work just as good? Is it expensive? Where do I get this stuff?
