hi all,

I'm a 35 year old woman. Growing up I had ridiculously thick hair that I literally had thinned with a razor at the salon.

Not the case anymore!

I've always had thinner hairs at my temples. But over the last few years it went from my temples to my frontal hairline. My part looks awesome. basically it looks like my forehead keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger. Temples are bald but easy to hide.

Fphl and all the women I see online have a great frontal and then a terrible part on top. I'm a literal opposite which makes me think my treatment should be different. the texture of their hair also looks great too and mine doesn't... It's incredibly frizzy, especially at the front.

I've ordered some of my own blood work. My free testosterone is .2, total testosterone the middle of the range, dht tested 13 (5-46) . Definitely not worth obsessing over. but given that my free testosterone is at the actual bottom of the range I'm surprised my DHT isn't 0?

My ferritin is in the 20s which complicates things but I highly doubt that contributes to my Norwood appearance. My promethease report had 6 bad baldness snp things

I've been using minoxidil for a year and it definitely works.

Question:. Would minoxidil cause all these short frizzy hairs at the front of my head or are those miniaturized hairs? My ponytail looks awful!

My treatment ideas are:

I just bought a derma roller off Amazon, going to combine with minoxidil. Maybe even try estrogen cream *shrug*

Nizoral and rosemary eo

Lactoferrin pills and iron pills. I'm not even going to get into this but I've major major problems absorbing iron.

Trying to research finasteride. I'd LOVE to take topical ...dutasteride apparently has some nasty side effects but there's a topical version ? And that doesn't go into your bloodstream?

ANY suggestions welcome. I'm incredibly overwhelmed given most of the research is on postmenopausal women or men or pcos women

Birth control pills (ie dianette) are out the question, I refuse to take spironolactone also

Neither of my parents had thinning hair at my age. My mom lost a lot of her hair in a ludwig pattern post menopause. I'm not sure when my dad started losing a lot of hair. I recently saw a pic of him in his 50s. His temples were bald but the rest of it looked thick

I would strongly recommend that a woman does NOT take Finasteride. It's specifically for male pattern baldness and from what I've read can have some serious sides for a woman.
I think you should speak to a doctor or dermatologist because there could be several causes for your hair loss and you need to know the cause before you know the right treatment.
Good luck!
