Hi, new user here. I've been noticing my hair has started to part from the center over the past 2 years. it always used to grow outward (poofy) rather than downward that much really. I usually comb my hair forward while its wet, but I've been noticing it always wants to part when it gets to a certain length and that part looks too wide to me. My hair is very thick, wavy, and fairly heavy. once its dry there is really no moving it for the most part. Some photos make it look a little worse that it may look in person, but its really bothering me regardless. Opinions appreciated, thanks.

Its hard to say, but it does look like female pattern baldness or DUPA, which is rare in men but does happen. How is your hairline and family history of baldness?

It might be because your hairs long. Friend of mine is not balding at all but his hair long and it gives off the illusion he’s losing hair because it’s being pulled in one direction. I don’t know for sure best bet is to go to a dermatologist so they can verify if your losing hair or not.

My hairline looks alright, my stylist said it was fine when I asked. I don’t have any family history of baldness on either side. I can’t name a bald relative.

Yeah I’ve thought that maybe it’s a combination of where my part is located and the heaviness of my hair. Got a derm appt in a couple weeks.

Your chances of balding are fairly low then, but just because you have no bald relatives doesn't mean you won't go bald. My advice to you is to monitor your situation, or get your hair cut shorter and see how it looks then!
