Does'nt work

isoflavones will increase hairloss by preferentially upregulating estrogen receptor beta which increase igf-1.

Genistein is an example- so is S-equol and i have used both of them(they are still siting in my freezer)
They both caused you to have hairloss?

yes- n that's a strong affirmative.

Genistein made me lose almost 1/4 of my temples(or whatever's left of it) within days

i bought it from ebay still have have it in my freezer

Genistein is a SERM- that is it selectively binds Estrogen Receptor Beta. same for s-equol- they are all isoflavones.

IGF-1 is widely suspected to increase the risk of cancer. I would advise against IGF-1 supplementation.

Might I ask how you used them? I’m assuming you prepared some form of topical.

It’s bizarre that this happened, but I have noted to everyone before that these flavonoids can act as aromatase inhibitors. Who knows if that’s part of the reason you had a negative experience.

People have been taking colostrum for thousands of years without developing cancer, and colostrum is renowned for its growth factor containing properties. I think it depends on how much you ingest/use and how “pure” it is.

Technically though if taking these supps orally causes increased hair growth, would not all of your body hair grow more?
Also I think i’ll Try this.

That had a lot of potential, it’s just that one of their team leaders died and who knows what else.
Ye I know. but the pics were not conclusive at all as far as I can remember.
I have always wondered how good was the vehicle they were using. there were a lot of discussion about it; as it looked promising (Topicon transdermal delivery technology)

there was a folder with all the pictures available on a website but obviously like follicept.- website, it's not available anymore but here are few pictures (case 2 was devon himself and 3 dr hsu) I reckon there may be a slight improvment for the 1 but can't be sure (lightning) and we don't have any numbers(tables)

I have been experimenting with Genistein and agree it is not good for hair, great for skin though my bald patch has never felt softer!:)!

Ill be honest here I dont see any difference whatsoever. If a treatment gets results like this you may as well go all natural, and let male pattern baldness have its way with you. Why even bother if your still horribly balding? To be fair that is kind of the sad state of male pattern baldness treatments right now. A Norwood 6 guy uses everything in existence costing 5 grand a year and he still looks like a Norwood 6 that is horribly balding.
The guys that have no hair loss must laugh at hair club commercials

In terms of hair growth in my research ER-Alpha sends hair into Catagen while ER-Beta tends to inhibit ER-Alpha's effects. The soy isoflavones tend to primarily agonize Beta. If they are good for hair growth, we cannot say for sure 100% but the people saying it made their hair fall out are just extrapolating in the sphere of improbability. We can almost probably say soy isoflavones do not cause hair loss, rapidly or otherwise. You may want to consume them in their complex form such as through organic sprouted tofu, tempeh, etc. as opposed to buying them in powder form off EBay.
