New member needing help & advice

Hello all- I am a new member to this site and like most people here, I have the same problem. I have been experiencing a receding hairline and some thinning in the front corners of my scalp. I have a few friends poke fun of my situation and it makes me feel pretty lousy. That is why I signed up with hairlosstalk.com to seek advice on what my next step could be.

I have done all the research like most members have already. I hear about Rogaine Foam & Propecia being the best choice for preventing & encouraging new hair growth.

Now my question is what is my best way of reversing my problem...

I'm on the big 3 able to maintain a little but no big change it seems little can be done for the temples other than hair transplant. Some have had great success with the 3 thou so give it a shot. If u don't know the 3 are Nizzoral shampoo, Propecia, and rogaine. I get generic minoxidil at Costco alot cheaper and just as effective. Good luck.

I heard that the Rogaine foam causes some of your hair to fall out when you first start out...Any truth to that??

I think so I used foam for a while and noticed more shedding. I like the liquid personally. It may be diffrent in your case. You just have to experiment and see what works besr for you. I took the plunge and got me temples filled in recently, i was tired of experimenting over a year, but that's not to say you shouldn't lose hope, meds and supps work diffrent for everyone, and you might be a good canidate for rogaine or others

what does a hair transplant cost for the temples? I am willing to do anything

I got a great deal by a reputable Doctor that's been used by others on this forum, normally $4000-$5000, got for $2000. Don't always look for deals though go for reputation depending on where you live you may have to travel to get superb results. I'd expect to pay around 5G's but research it. I'd take advice from Petchsky. C.C.S., s.a.f, and Cassin these guys seem pretty knowladgable. I'm a bit of a noob too just PM these guys and a few other experienced posters.

Yeah, I agree - I don't think I would be looking for a bargain on a transplant.

Why not try the "big 3" and see what happens? If it doesn't work, you can buy a small hairpiece that is custom-fit to your particular hair loss area.
