New information regarding optimal finasteride dosage?

Currently I use 0.625mg finasteride (1/8 of a 5mg tablet). Partly to save money, partly because I feel more "safe" with this lower dosage compared to 1.25mg (1/4 of a 5mg tab). Now I've gone through the archives on this forum and it seems like 0.625mg should be very close in effectiveness to 1mg (I'm okay with it if it's at least 90% as effective). However I haven't really found any convincing evidence on whether a lower dosage would actually safeguard you to any extent from side effects.

Does anyone have a more current compilation of the research regarding dosage and DHT inhibition, as well as any research on how dosage affects side effects?

Anecdotes regarding dosage are also welcome.

TL;DR: Want to know if my usage of 0.625mg finasteride is justified or if I should take the "recommended" dose of 1g (or 1.25mg for convenience).

As it's almost as effective as 1mg, if you were prone to sides, a reduced dose like yours would no doubt still cause those sides.

The fact that you do not appear to have any sides suggest that finasteride does not cause you the suffer sides full stop, like the majority of users.
