Hello, I'm new here. I'm 20 years old and I have thinner hair in the vertex. It's thinner on a very small area on my vertex (1.5 inch) but I have NO hair loss at all!
I went to a very good dermatologist who confirmed that I have no hair loss and he said that the lack in hair in that area is because I had hair loss for some reason for a short time and it stopped. I'm not losing hair for at least 7 months.
When I wash my hair, I don't even lose 1 single hair, when I wake up in the morning there's no hair on the pillow at all.
My Ferritin is low in the normal range (Ferritin 53) and my Iron is low on my normal rage (Iron 73). My Folic Acid is very low (3.2) so I'm now taking Iron and Ferritin vitamins that also contains Folic Acid so it should fix my Iron, Ferritin and Folic Acid problem. I'm taking those vitamins for almost a month now and in 2 more months I'll finish the treatment. Hoping to see a difference a few month after that.
It also been a rough time for me, for 6 months I was unemployed and was under a lot of stress and pressure and I think that before that time I didn't have this thinner spot on the vertex.
I'm now washing my hair with Nizoral 2% twice per week and in the other days (3-4 days per week) I use a shampoo without SLS that is made of Rosemary and Tea Tree Oil. I'm also taking those vitamins and since I'm not losing hair I'm just waiting for it to grow. I started using Nizoral and this natural SLS-free shampoo only week ago but my dandruff are gone and I have no oily scalp anymore!
Do you think it'll grow back? Are you guys, who have male pattern hair lost, when you started losing hair, did you lose it for a short while and then it completely stopped for a year? Is it likely to happen? Whatever I'm having doesn't look like male pattern baldness to me, and NO ONE in my family was bald. Not parents, uncles, cousins, grandparents and even my great grandparents never got bald and all had full head of hair.
And in my case, I'm not losing any hair, so it should grow, right? It will just take time to recover? Because if I'm not losing hair, whatever I lost could grow and I shouldn't lose it again?
That's my story, would love to hear what you guys think.
