Hey Gang,

New here and I'll start off by admitting I only noticed my hair loss / thinning about a month ago. Prior to this, I had a full-head of hair and actually it grew pretty wildly. I've enclosed some pics and I figured this would be the best place to seek advice.

So far it's a small patch, uneven, with a lot of thinning. I know I'm 40 but prior to this, even six months, it looked nothing like this. I only caught holding a mirror.

I can tell you I'm perpetually stressed and on a plethora of medications for high blood pressure and type-II diabetes; the blood-pressure med changed almost a year ago come October and in May a new Diabetic med was added so I'm hoping & praying that's the culprit.

Here are the pics - does this warrant a dermatologist? Or am I adding yet one more needless stressor to my already panicked list...

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck wouldnt you say its probably a duck? In this case male pattern baldness? What else could it be and your well on the road to advanced male pattern baldness so I mean if you care about your hair obviously see a derm and do something about it. Its clearly male pattern baldness

If I were you I would see a dermatologist because the thinning is evident.

male pattern baldness doesn't run in my family, but Type II Diabetes does on my mother's side. I had a relatively thick head of hair until about 6 months ago, and at the time, my sugars were on the high-side.

The dermatologist is definitely my next visit to see what can be done.

Also in the last six months they've given me some new meds. Bystolic and Invokana, so I'm wondering if one of them isn't causing this.
