Hey guys although I'm new to the forum I've been following several various forums on hair loss for a few months and personally feel that this one is the best for finding an intelligent accurate and useful response. Now that sucking up is aside :D time for my question. I've recently started a regimen of Rogaine Foam, spironolactone, Tricomin, and Emu Oil in the morning at night with Nizoral 1% every 3 days. IS there a preferable order to do these as some people say its important to use them in a certain order but others dont. I'm a norwood 2 so my hairline and temporal area are what I'm trying to gain back. I'm also African American and was wondering if it matters at all treatment-wise due to different hair style. If anyone also has any suggestions for treatments or anything I'd love to hear them. Thanks again for your guys time.

dr lee says to apply the spironolactone a few minutes after when the minoxidil
has partially dried for the best results. but then he says a lot of things.

So far from suggestions its tricomin-> minoxidil -> spironolactone (which is what i've been doing so far which is great) I'm still not sure where to use the emu oil if you guys even think its worth it at all. As for the finasteride Yes btw i'm trying to avoid the finasteride as I'm sorta scared of the side effects but i'm leaning toward going for it to avoid further hair loss. One more question i was hoping spironolactone would be enough to prevent DHT but i've been thinking with all of these should i just put them on the hairline area since its where i'm currently affected or should i spread it all over my head?

I'm African-American as well and I'm on a similar regimen. Except I use Nizoral 2% rather than Tricomin. And like yourself, I've decided to avoid using finasteride as well (unless this regimen fails I guess). Anyhow, no one can really say how effective spironolactone will be for your hair loss. Reason why is because everyone reacts differently to the medication. Some respond slower than others, some respond faster, and some dont respond at all.

Anyhow, only apply spironolactone to the area experiencing hair loss. So if that's the hair line, then only apply it to the hair line. I apply spironolactone to my temples only, since thats where my hair has thinned. I use spironolactone like 30 mins after using Rogaine Foam. Not sure about the advantage of Emu Oil.

the sided of finasteride are not that commen, and if you are 1 out of the 2 %
then you can always stop using and in about a week the sides will wanish.
So it doesnt hurt to add it.
