Here's the link for the lab test result:
http://www.ecstasydata.org/view.php?id=2166

Here are pictures I posted of the Finpecia product itself:

I am now the 2nd person I know of who had finasteride from 4rx.com tested, although the other person's was from GenPharma. That was in this thread:
http://www.hairlosshelp.com/forums/mess ... adid=80934

(That person's lab report is the reason I chose to buy from 4rx.com in the first place.)

Anyways, I have an exam coming up, so I can't post it now, but stay tuned for a lengthy thread all about Finpecia and my online search search for a source that was guided by skepticism.

Inhouse sells the same exact version - also from CIPLA, Kumrek plant, India.

I'm confused about the study... so it's fake or is it testing to see if it's ecstasy?

I'm confused about the study... so it's fake or is it testing to see if it's ecstasy?

The result shows that, using their tests, the only substance detected in the tablet was finasteride. (That's good news!) Ecstasydata.org, despite the name, is not limited to testing for ecstasy. I actually mailed it directly to Drug Detection Laboratories, Inc., an FDA-approved business that I spoke with over the phone. I was discounted for declaring it as part of the ecstasydata.org project. You'll see on the website that the address (bottom of page) is actually for Drug Detection Laboratories, Inc.

If you look at the result here...

http://www.ecstasydata.org/view.php?id=2166

...you will find "GC/MC: Finasteride: 1" displayed.

The "GC/MS" means gas chromatography / mass spectroscopy. It is just the name of a particular type of test. To understand the "Finasteride: 1" displayed next to it, you can start by clicking here:

http://www.ecstasydata.org/results.php

You will see that there is a column titled "Ratio / Amounts" and has a small, orange circle next to the column title. If you place your mouse cursor above that orange circle, it says this:

Ratio/Amounts are, in most cases, the relative amount of the detected substances. When a single substance is detected, the ratio will always be "1". When a mass is given, that is the actual amount of drug in the full submitted sample.

Therefore, because the lab result is "Finasteride: 1" and no other substance is listed, this means finasteride was the only detected substance.

One last thing... Let's visit the results page again:

I assume (from Google-ing and the fact that the GC/MS Test detected finasteride) the "Marquis Test" and "Mecke Test" aren't used to test for a wide array of substances. Instead, they are specifically used to test for ecstasy (or a narrow array of substances). That is why there was "no reaction" for them.

:bravo: Thank you for posting this. I use Finpecia myself and I'm glad to find out that it is legitimate good quality stuff.
