It depends on what you want, dutasteride has a much longer half life than finasteride so it won't matter much if you skip a dose or two, however, the results are dose dependent : in studies, 2.5mg a day gets better results than 0.5mg a day, which gets better results than 0.1mg a day.sure..??
the same question for duta?
tnx again.
DHT levels after only one dose of finasteride and finasteride inhibition curve :No, finasteride must be taken everyday, if you really want results.
It's common sense, that way the DHT is kept at a constant and low level.
People recommending here skipping days, taking ridiculous-low doses such as 0.125(which most probably does nothing), must be ignored.
IF Merck and FDA approved the medicine with that way of administration: 1mg a day, i prefer to believe them, not some obscure "amateur" scientist dude on the internet that says otherwise.
In my common-sens, either you take 1 mg a day, or you do not take any.
DHT levels after only one dose of finasteride and finasteride inhibition curve :
I've seen these many times.
From my personal experience it is better to stick to it daily. Result: no shed and maintenance for 4 years.
Really, what's the point in skipping 1 day a week?
And it depends on male pattern baldness agressiveness, maybe for some, 1 mg EOD is fine, but for others it doesn't bring results.
Of course those of you in the early stages, or with full head of hair but balding gene present in the family, you can experiment at the start with low dose/skipping days, but someone already with NW2-3 and rapid hair-loss should just stick to the routine from the prospect:1 mg a day. Maybe even more, if hair-loss is bad/agressive.
Because that graphs don't tell the whole story, there is also the absorption issue. Not everyone's body is the same.
And even the second chart suggest a clear dependance between dose and DHT reduction.
I would like the DHT to stay as constant as possible, that's why i wouldn't like skipping days.
