Do you guys think my hair loss is male pattern baldness? For some background, I'm 20 years old and my family doesn't have a big history of hair loss. I've been noticing a lot of shedding for the past 4-10 months, and my hairline has somewhat receded. It's mostly the corners of my hairline that I'm concerned with. My hairline used to be more round. You can actually see some fine hairs of where my old hairline used to be. This past year has been quite stressful and unhealthy (lots of sugar/not a lot of protein and vitamins), so I'm hoping it's temporary once all the stress goes away. What do you guys think? Is it male pattern baldness?

Here are some very recent pictures:

Might be early signs or developing into a "mature hairline". Keep a eye on it or consider jumping on finasteride.

If your hairline keeps receding, start taking Finasteride especially if it's male pattern baldness.

If it was due to stress, your thinning would be all over your scalp or at least not focussed on your temple points. Thinning in the temples is male pattern baldness 99% of the time. If it continues to recede, be happy that you caught it early since treatments work well if you start early.

Go see your derm and get a prescription for finasteride. Most derms will give you a prescription for finasteride if you prove them you have knowledge about male pattern baldness and finasteride(side effects, results, etc). And tell them why you want to start using it. People usually say "oh yeah just wait a couple months to make sure it's actually male pattern baldness" , but there is no reason to waste time. You have an awesome hairline and head of hair. Go see a good competent dermatologist so they can test if you actually have male pattern baldness. If you do then hop on finasteride and you should be good!

If you can find out it's receding I'd just start propecia until that stop working, wait a bit, then use minoxidil. After that stops working switch to dutasteride and try adding stronger minoxidil with azealic acid. Just keep upping your treatments when they stop working and hope for a cure in 10 years.
