Dude why did you go off Propecia? Thats hair suicide in my opinion. You could suffer from "catch up hairloss" now. Coincidently I dont think your hair is really THAT bad. Granted its not great, but ur far from "bald". The best thing you can do is stay on Propecia. Forget about Rogaine for now, I really dont think its going to help you at this stage as you have no clear case of a bald patch.

Bottom line is you need to eliminate the DHT floating in your system and attacking your sensetive follicles. Other than that there is not a lot you can do!

yea i hav some pathetic hairline by now after i stop taking propecia...
i quit cos i found no regrowth of my hair after taking it for a year
fking regret now.. :(
i think i'll resume on propecia + kirkland minoxidil
the thing is,my entire scalp is thinning, but no bald spot, wat the hell is happening now?
how to prevent the 'U' shaped hairline from being formed?any idea?

I used to think it was about re-growth. But it really isnt dude. The fact is its very VERY hard to achieve re-growth, especially on the hairline, it takes a LONG time. You will learn in time that this hairloss battle is not about regrowth but maintaince. Thats what Propecia doesm it stops the the hairloss or greatly slows it down. Even tho you didnt get anymore growth I bet you didnt really lose hair either.

My advice is this: Get back on Propecia immeadiately, this will effectively freeze your hairloss in time. Then get some Rogaine Foam and try it on your hairline to get some growth. (which is exactly what im doing) but dont expect any miracles.
As I said before its about trying to stabilize your hairloss....Once you have achieved this for a few years (which I believe I have achieved) look into a possible hair transplant for your temples with someone like Dr Armani to restore the natural shape of your hairline.

It actually feel sorry for you because it would be worse having a receaded hairline in asia because its a lot more rare. Not to say people dont get hairloss in asia but asian men tend to have a more convex shaped hairlines unlike there cacausian counterparts so you may be chasitized more.

ya surely i will get some propecia very soon,i was having some misconception about the 'regrowth' ..too bad..i was looking for regaine foam but i could not find it in the pharmacies in this country..
how much does hair transplantation cost by the way?
too bad for an asian to hav receding hairlines, quite rare in fact, especially for chinese.
thanks bro for ur info,it does help alot.

The cost depends on how many grafts you get and the surgeon. Some charge $5 per graft others like Armani charge $14. But sometimes you get what you pay for.

Check out this thread. This guy got a 1000 grafts (hairs) placed into his temples. This is something you could get a couple of years down the track if you manage to stablizie your hairloss. (Its certainly what i plan to do)

Surgery like this would cost you like $10,000-$12,000 US. With someone like Armani.
